Sales and Promotion in the Salon

A 6-hour online course on selling in a salon without pushing — how to find what the client actually needs, and why a sale they did not need is a failure, not a profit.

Overview

This course is about selling in a salon without pushing — how to find what the client actually needs, how to recommend from that need, and why a sale the client did not need is a failure rather than a profit. It is taught online, in English, in about six hours, with Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese translations alongside the English text to help you follow; the English version is the one that applies if the translations differ. On completion you receive a Taitam-D Academy London certificate of completion. This is not a regulated qualification and is not awarded by any external awarding organisation. The course follows the structure of recognised customer-care units so that what you learn lines up with industry practice, but completing it does not give you those units or any credit towards them. A full customer-care qualification requires assessors to observe you working with real clients, which an online course cannot provide. This certificate is not a licence to practise, and it does not on its own qualify you to work with clients. The legal content is general information based on the law of the United Kingdom. It is not legal advice, and the rules in your own country may be different.

Instructors

Frequently asked questions

Who is this course for?

Anyone in a salon, spa or clinic who recommends or sells to clients: therapists, stylists, nail technicians, receptionists and owners. No previous qualification is needed, and no sales experience is assumed.

What do I get when I finish?

A Taitam-D Academy London certificate of completion. It is not a regulated qualification, it is not a VTCT unit or any other external award, and it does not count as credit towards one.

Can I work with clients after this course?

This course teaches the knowledge. A full customer-care qualification also requires an assessor to watch you with real clients, which cannot happen online. The certificate is not a licence to practise and does not on its own qualify you to work with clients.

What language is the course in?

English. Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese translations appear alongside the English text to help you follow. If a translation and the English differ, the English applies.

How long does it take, and is there a deadline?

About six hours of study, taken at your own pace.

Does the course cover the law in my country?

The legal content is based on the law of the United Kingdom and is general information, not legal advice. The rules where you work may be different — check them before you rely on anything here.
