Before you buy

Buying the whole pathway in one go costs less than buying its units one at a time, because each unit price includes its own tutoring and assessment. You can also build a qualification unit by unit. If you buy units to work towards a qualification, the centre registers you with VTCT Skills. Each unit the centre's assessor records as achieved counts as credit towards every qualification that includes it, and once you have achieved enough, the centre submits your results to VTCT Skills, which awards the qualification. You do not need to buy the pathway as well. If you buy a single unit on its own, you are not registered with VTCT Skills, and that unit does not lead to a VTCT qualification. If you buy the whole pathway, you pay the full price shown. Units you bought earlier are not deducted.

Overview

Thai massage is worked on a mat with the client clothed, using compression, stretching and assisted movement rather than oil. This unit includes practical training with our teachers at the centre. On the platform, the course gives you the unit outline: lesson 1 sets out the 2 learning outcomes your assessor judges you against. If you are working towards a qualification, your assessor also books the practical observations with you. VTCT Skills publishes the full assessment criteria free in its online qualification finder. On the platform, the course holds 1 lesson, the unit outline, with no taught modules, quizzes or worksheets. Buying this unit on its own does not register you with VTCT Skills, so it does not lead to a VTCT certificate. Learning outcomes 1. Be able to prepare for Thai massage treatments 2. Wasana Hayward (Kru Dtom) is a senior massage therapist, instructor and qualified VTCT Level 3 assessor at Taitam-D Academy London, with more than 30 years of experience in massage therapy. Kru Dtom blends traditional Thai massage with UK professional standards, and specialises in sports massage, deep tissue massage and lymphatic drainage. Qualifications include VTCT Level 3 in Massage Therapy and VTCT Level 4 in Semi-Permanent Pigmentation.

Kru Rat

Supharat Wongwai

Supharat Wongwai (Kru Rat) is a massage therapist, instructor and qualified VTCT Level 3 assessor at Taitam-D Academy London, and a graduate of the Academy's own professional programme. Kru Rat specialises in traditional Thai massage, including targeted therapeutic massage, Tok Sen and relaxation massage, as well as spa treatments. As an assessor, Kru Rat assesses learners against the qualification standards and helps develop the next generation of massage and spa therapists.
